The technology is shed in good light in Asia with the Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) agreeing that it would have a positive impact on the turbulent economy.

In anticipation over the increased production of 3D films across Asia there are plans to expand the number of 3D screens to accommodate the demand.  Korea only has a total of 47 screens while Japan and China both have totals well into the hundreds.

One of the benefits of this technology for the Asian film industry is the fact that it has not yet been successfully pirated.  And considering the lack of screens, the number of admissions is greater than the normal 2D screenings and the cost of entry can be up to double the price.  It is also believed that the technology may interest an older audience who wish to view media such as nature documentaries and music concerts.  With such promising advantages there must be greater accessibility for audiences.

This 3D development won’t only be for the big screen, interactive home entertainment will also be enhanced including gaming and films.  This will familiarise the audience with the technology and not necessarily provide them an alternative to 3D cinema where the experience will truly be felt.

With the technology development under away, it will soon seem like only yesterday were we experiencing the rewards.
