Last week we had the intense sequences of western and sci-fi action and violence, some partial nudity and a brief crude reference Cowboys and Aliens opened and is well received and this week we also have 'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' that comes with the back story of what happened while he and his fellow astronauts were lost in space? How did monkeys rise and people lose their place at the top of the food chain? That’s exactly where the smart, exciting Rise of the Planet of the Apes fits in to the series. Remains to be seen, how it does in next week report.

Whilst the Audience seem to have liked Cowboys and Aliens, the reviewers did not. here are some examples - Again I don’t think I will have the time to see this in the movie - But will probably buy it for my son. And that is what counts - will he like it? Will he watch it more than once? With so many of these movies that are slated by pompous reviewers - I get amazed how well they are received by public.

New York Times (Manohla Drgis) - [Favreau] wavers uncertainly between goofy pastiche and seriousness in a movie that wastes its title and misses the opportunity to play with, you know, ideas about the western and science-fiction horror.

Rolling Stone (Peter Travers) - The mash-up of cowboys and aliens doesn't do either camp any favors. How are we supposed to work up a rooting interest when both sides are shooting blanks?
