According to BBC, The Space Launch System (SLS), as it is currently known, will be the most powerful launcher ever built - more potent even than the Saturn V rockets that put men on the Moon. The design for NASA's newest behemoth of a rocket hearkens back to the massive workhorse liquid rockets that propelled men to the moon. But this time the destinations will be much farther and the rocket even more powerful.

Found this great article about the first 45 years of Star Trek with TV producer Gene Roddenberry's optimistic vision of the future that has captivated fans for nearly 1/2 a century. There has been Six Television Series and 11 movies depicting humanity hundreds of years in the future. Exploring the stars and battling alien enemies of all kinds that include races like Klingons, Romulans and the Borg.
