Sony has picked up ‘District 9′ director Neill Blomkamp’s big budgeted follow up named ‘Elysium’. It is reported that Sony has set a budget set at $120 million for ‘Elysium’ is a big step from Blomkamp’s $35 million, under-the-radar hit, ‘District 9′. The new film will star Matt Damon (Ocean 11/12/13, ‘Hereafter’, Bourne Identity’), Jodie Foster (‘Contact’, The Brave One’) and Sharlto Copley (‘District 9′, ‘The A-Team’) with Syd Mead (‘Blade Runner’, ‘Alien’, ‘Tron’) as Production Designer.

Early reviews are looking good for ‘The Green Hornet’ - Directed by eclectic French director Michel Gondry, the film stars Seth Rogan (‘Pineapple Express’, ‘Superbad’), Jay Chou (‘Curse of the Golden Flower’, ‘True Legend’) and Cameron Diaz. ‘The Green Hornet’ debuted in 1936 on Detroit radio station WXYZ and was later adapted to comic books and a 1966 television series starring superstar martial artist, Bruce Lee.

The original Tron was a cutting edge sci-fi adventure when the film took its viewers into a new world, a CGI world. Using a combination of old special effects with new technology created for the film the film didn’t do anywhere near the business that was expected of it. But because of video and later DVD, Tron has developed a much-deserved cult following. With the new movie Disney has spend close to $180 million on the new sequal. The new movie is using the latest technical resources available today, Tron: Legacy is also available in glorious Imax 3D.
